The Joint Venture Agroforestry Program was established in 1993. Its core partners are the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation, Land & Water Australia, and Forest & Wood Products Australia. RIRDC is the managing agent. The Natural Heritage Trust and Murray-Darling Basin Commission have also contributed significant resources to the program.
The objective of the program is to provide knowledge to underpin profitable, sustainable and resilient agroforestry within Australian farming systems and landscapes.
Farm forestry has a critical role to play in the dramatically changing contexts of climate change and emissions trading policies and programs
