This Program finished in 2009.

The objective of this program is to improve productivity, environmental sustainability, and wellbeing in rural and regional Australia through R&D that contributes to building strong, innovative institutions, communities, group activities and personal capacities.

A one-year plan for the program has been approved by the RIRDC Board, and a new direction for the Program will be set in the 2008-09 financial year.

Eighty per cent of the Rural People and Learning Systems budget comes from RIRDC Core funds, with the remainder from external contributions.
