Facilitate information
transfer, industry development, human capital and community awareness
| Implications | The implications of the study are that even with high adoptions rates (70 per cent) very large improvements from breeding will be required for the investment in R&D to meet the RIRDC benchmark return. The small size of the industry, importance of scale in production efficiencies and the limited gains from breeding due to the small genetic pool and fact that hybrid vigour is lost quickly limit the benefits of public research for the industry. |
