Government Services

The Prime Minister committed the Commonwealth to bringing government services online as part of The Australian Online Government Initiative. The aim of the initiative is to make all appropriate government services visible, accessible and useable via a number of Internet portals. Given the size and diversity of our public sector organisations, this was, and continues to be a considerable challenge. While these government portals may not necessarily offer direct e-commerce services, they do make it considerably easier for individuals and businesses to deal with government by facilitating access to current information from dozens of Government departments and hundreds of State and Territory Government agencies.
