We will know RIRDC's Rice R&D investments have been successful when:

• the Program's core research capacity has been retained;
• there is increased collaboration with international, commonwealth, state and industry partners;
• a new cold tolerant rice variety has been successfully developed;
  
• there is increased understanding of alternative farm practices; and
  
• the rice industry continues to take up new identified innovations.
