The New Animal Products program covers about 40 animal species and includes industries that are relatively new (such as farmed rabbits and ostriches) and small industries that are more established (such as game birds and angora goats).
Research is funded by core Australian Government contributions, voluntary industry contributions and some levy contributions.
The program aims to strengthen existing industries and help facilitate the development of new animal industries where Australia could have a competitive advantage.
