Key strategies for 2010-11
- Advance quality assurance in the harvesting and processing of kangaroo meat
- Improve the nutrition and management of new livestock species
- Assess conservation information and aspects of commercialisation of native mammals
- Improve conception rates from artificial insemination in farmed rabbits
- Increase productivity through improved genetics in crocodile and freshwater crayfish for regional rural producers
- Increase industry R&D in gamebirds
- Continue to commission investments in R&D addressing the Buffalo R&D Plan 2005-10 and the Kangaroo Industry Plan 2005-10
- Encourage participation of post-graduates and post doctorates through projects.

- Improved reproduction rates in alpaca, buffalo and farmed rabbits through advanced technology
- Determine initial carbon emission estimates in some new animal industries
- Increase linkage mapping analysis in salt water crocodile
- Improved nutrition systems for farmed crocodile
- Identify more efficient husbandry and management for ducks
- Increased knowledge in processing crocodile skins
- Improve productivity in red claw
- Advance quality assurance in the harvesting of kangaroos
- Provide up to three buffalo industry newsletters.

- Improve growth of red claw and marron in R&D commercial facilities.
