horticulture enterprises produce commodities of more than $30 billion value
per annum on around 135 000 enterprises spread across all states of Australia.
However, that production is associated with a high cost in terms if human
injury. High rates of serious injury and deaths on Australian farms
are of concern to agricultural industry bodies, farmers, workers and farm
enterprises and federal and state governments.
