After the completion

varying soil types, the following results were observed:
Management Systems can
be practised by all rice growers.
New management techniques have been developed as an associated outcome to this project. Improved irrigation layouts (side ditch channels), specific weed management practices, stale seedbed culture, row spacing and timing of sowing are just some of these.
There is need for further research into water management and usage, as well as design and effect of various press wheel configurations associated with these growing methods.
It is envisaged that these improved techniques will be passed on to Australian rice growers in the form of various industry publications, field days and grower meetings.
