Australia and New Zealand Biochar Researchers Network
Summary ANZ Biochar Researchers Network hosts a website, arranges researchers networking events and recently hosted the Asia Pacific Biochar conference. In June 2010 the group hosted a Tasmanian Biochar Workshop and we are now planning our next regional meeting in Victoria. We would also like to organise a information workshop for NGO's in the near future.
Program Bioenergy, Bioproducts and Energy
Research organisation University of New England
Objective summary Numerous papers have been published by committee members in relation to the technology and its associated uses. This funding is being sought to continue the work of the ANZ Biochar Researchers Network who aim to bring together scientists who are researching in this field, as well as interested members of the public to certain open forums.

The existing literature presents numerous arguments for the use of biochar in terms of carbon reduction and greenhouse gas abatement as well as related effects such as the improvement in agricultural efficiency.
